Orange County, California Criminal Attorney

Suing the police and defending bogus criminal cases since 1984

ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA CIVIL RIGHTS & CRIMINAL ATTORNEY

Mr. Steering has been suing the police and practicing criminal law since 1984 (in California since 1986.) He has tried and otherwise litigated hundreds of civil rights against Orange County and its cities; especially Anaheim, Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, Garden Grove and other cities throughout Orange County. Mr. Steering has also been defending criminal cases; especially “resistance offense” cases, such as violations of Cal. Penal Code § 148(a)(1)(resisting / obstructing / delaying peace officer), Cal. Penal Code § 69 (resisting peace officer via threat or use of violence) and other similar “resistance offenses”. Police aren’t legal scholars, but they know this; that if you are convicted of a “resistance offense”, that more often than not, you are not legally precluded from suing the police; for your false arrest, and very often, for the use of excessive force upon you. Here are some examples of some of Mr. Steering’s Orange County lawsuits:
  • Markwell v. City of Huntington Beach, OC Superior Court, $40,000.00 settlement for excessive force (1987);
