As the old saying goes, “The young lawyer knows the law, but the old lawyer knows the Judge”.

THE POLICE IN COMMERCE ARE OFTEN BRUTAL AND ARE INSTITUTIONALLY CORRUPT.

Commerce is a city located in southeast Los Angeles County, California, with an estimated population of 13,000 residents. 93.6% of City of Commerce residents have some type of Hispanic makeup in their blood, 44.8% are White, 1.1% are Asian, and .8% are Black or African American. Only 4.6% of residents have a bachelor’s degree or higher and 45.8% have a high school degree. 38.8% are foreign born and 76.2% speak a language other than English at home. 17.9% of individuals and 15.4% of families live below the poverty line.

The City of Commerce contracts its police services with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department; a truly corrupt and truly brutal composed of many street gang members with badges. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy sheriffs that patrol the streets of Commerce deploy out of the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station, located at 5019 E. Third Street, East Los Angeles, California.

The Choppers 12 GangThere are a number of criminal street gangs in Commerce, including the Bandini Midgets, the Stoners 13 in East LA, the Choppers 12 and the Varrio Choppers 12 Midnight gang. In large part due to have to deal with these criminal street gangs, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Sheriffs have adopted the mentality that they are “The Baddest Gang In Town”.

The East Los Angeles Station is run by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Gang Members, and they continue to run that station notwithstanding official written policies of the Sheriff’s Department to ban deputy gangs in its ranks. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy sheriffs have also been involved in the shooting of civilians in Commerce in recent years. See, LASD releases body cam video of deputy shooting and injuring 14-year-old in Commerce, The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Monday released body camera video of a deputy shooting and injuring a 14-year-old boy who they say ran from a stolen car and hid in a Commerce neighborhood. Neighbors told NBC4 the bullet fired by the deputy went through the window of a home just a block away from where the shooting happened and where a 1-year-old child was standing. When Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy sheriffs abuse basically law-abiding citizens, they usually do so in the context of “Contempt of Cop” situations; situations that involved basically law-abiding citizens verbally protesting or verbally challenging police orders or actions. See, The “Contempt of Cop Game”; How Well Can You Play?, steeringlaw.

When Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy sheriffs deem basically law-abiding citizens in “Contempt of Cop” they often will beat or tase or pepper-spray those basically law-abiding citizens, and also arrest them and procure their malicious criminal prosecution for some fabricated “resistance offense”, such as violation of Cal. Penal Code § 69 (resisting officer with force), Cal. Penal Code § 148(a)(1) (resisting/delaying/obstructing a officer), Cal. Penal Code § 240/241 (assault on officer), Cal. Penal Code § 242 / 243(b) & (c) (battery on an officer causing injury) and Cal. Penal Code § 245(c) (assault on officer with weapon).
