As the old saying goes, “The young lawyer knows the law, but the old lawyer knows the Judge”

THE POLICE IN MAYWOOD ARE BRUTAL AND INSTITUTIONALLY DISHONEST.

Maywood is a small city in Los Angeles County that contracts its police services with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Those deputy sheriffs are deployed out of the Maywood/Cudahy Sub-Station located at 4319 E. Slauson Ave., Maywood, California.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has a more that 50-year deputy culture where everybody is a scumbag and have no rights. See, A Tradition of Violence The History of Deputy Gangs in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, KNOCK LA, March 2021. That deputy sheriff gang culture at the Sheriff’s Department became so bad and so notorious that in 2021 the California Legislature banned deputy gangs from any California police agency when it enacted Cal. Pen. Code § 13670.

LASD Sheriff Robert Luna 2However, notwithstanding the enactment of Cal. Pen. Code § 13670, gangs of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department continue to maintain these deputy gangs at it various stations, and to this day those gangster deputies continue to beat, tase, pepper-spray, shoot, falsely arrest and frame their victims. See, Gangs within the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are banned with new policy, CBS News, September 19, 2024.

The public continues to tolerate the existence, and the perpetuation of these station level deputy gangs, some of which actually require a deputy to murder a civilian on the job for admission to the gang; again, no joke.

Accordingly, if you are stopped by a deputy sheriff in Maywood, shut your mouth and do whatever the deputy tells you to do without protest or comment, and you may not get beaten, tased, pepper-sprayed or falsely arrested, no joke. Otherwise, don’t be surprised if your verbal protest or verbal challenge to the orders or action of Los Angeles County deputy sheriffs in Maywood will almost assuredly result in you being beaten or tased or pepper-sprayed, and thereafter falsely arrested and maliciously prosecuted for some fabricated “resistance offense” such as violation of Cal. Penal Code § 69 (resisting officer with force), Cal. Penal Code § 148(a)(1) (resisting/delaying/obstructing a officer), Cal. Penal Code § 240/241 (assault on officer), Cal. Penal Code § 242 / 243(b) & (c) (battery on officer causing injury) and Cal. Penal Code § 245(c) (assault on officer with weapon).
