THE RANCHO SAN DIEGO NEIGHBORHOOD OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY IS PATROLLED BY THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE.

Rancho San Diego AssociationRancho San Diego is a census-designated place (CDP) in the East County region of San Diego County, California. The population was 21,858 at the 2020 census, up from 21,208 at the 2010 census. The area was developed as subdivisions beginning in the 1970s.

The demographics of Rancho San Diego are White 74.9%, Hispanic or Latino 16.4%, Two or More Races 11.3%, Some other Race 5.2%, Asian 4.2%, Black or African American 3.4%, and Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander 0.3%.

Criminal street gang activity in Rancho San Diego is relatively low compared to urban core neighborhoods in San Diego, though the broader East County region experiences occasional localized incidents, localized taggings, and periodic multi-agency sweeps.

Ranch San Diego is patrolled by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, that deploys out of the Rancho San Diego Patrol Station that is located at 11486 Campo Road, Spring Valley, CA 91978.

CRIMINAL STREET GANG ACTIVITY IN RANCHO SAN DIEGO PROMPTS DEPUTY SHERIFFS TREATING LAW-ABIDING CIVILIANS LIKE STREET GANGSTERS.

San Diego County has an estimated 158 active street gangs with roughly 7,500 documented members, according to comprehensive regional data compiled by the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG).

Rancho San Diego Sheriff's StationLaw enforcement notes that a significant portion of these groups operate within the city of San Diego itself, but many of these criminal streets terrorize the streets of East San Diego County. Recent law enforcement actions in San Diego County have targeted multiple violent criminal street gang operations that have been terrorizing communities, including East San Diego County.

In 2025, the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, in coordination with the San Diego Police Street Gang Unit, DEA, and ATF, launched a six‑month undercover investigation into Mexican Mafia (La EME)–controlled street gang members. The operation, “Operation “Los Impuestos” uncovered a network of violent criminals—many from various gangs—operating under the direction of prison gang bosses. Charges included murder, attempted murder, extortion, firearms trafficking, and other violent crimes. The takedown resulted in 39 arrests and 46 defendants charged across 20 cases, with some facing life sentences.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office deal with these street gangsters every day. Often, due in part to have to deal with these criminal street gangs, San Diego County Sheriff’s Office deputy sheriffs often treat nice law-abiding civilians like street gangsters. When that happens, those nice law-abiding civilians often verbally protest and/or verbally challenge orders or actions of deputy sheriffs. When that happens, those nice law-abiding civilians are now deemed to be in “Contempt of Cop“.

When that happens, those nice law-abiding civilians are beaten or tased or pepper-sprayed, and thereafter falsely arrested and maliciously prosecuted, for “resistance offenses” such as violation of Cal. Penal Code § 69 (resisting officer with force), Cal. Penal Code § 148(a)(1) (resisting / delaying / obstructing officer), Cal. Penal Code § 240/241 (assault on officer), Cal. Penal Code § 242 / 243(b) & (c) (battery on officer causing injury) and Cal. Penal Code § 245(c) (assault on officer with weapon).

JLS screen capture from NBC 7 San Diego News Piece on Daigle - Cropped 2The only thing that matters when enforcing your rights, is whether you win your case. If you don’t win your case, then you have no rights because you have no way to enforce them.

Just because the police violated your constitutional rights doesn’t mean that you can do anything about it. In order to “do something about it”, to enforce your constitutional rights, it takes a great deal of experience, insights, skill and savvy. You need a unanimous jury of usually 8 jurors to vote in your favor in federal court to win your case. If you mouth-off to the cops or don’t do what the police tell you to do or cuss out the cops, or act like a jerk, one or more of the jurors in your case may not vote for you. That is the reality in which we all live.

Mr. Steering’s many years of experience and knowledge in suing the police can help you maximize your chances of winning your Police Misconduct Civil Rights case, and winning is the only thing that matters.
