JLS in Courtroom cropped 2Police Misconduct Attorney Jerry L. Steering has been suing the police since 1984 for police brutality, false arrests, malicious criminal prosecutions and wrongful police caused death such as shootings or smotherings. Mr. Steering sues the police in Claremont, California, and throughout the State of California.

Mr. Steering is an Expert and Specialist in suing the police in federal court for violation of your federal constitutional rights and has many years of experience in doing so. As the saying goes: “The young lawyer knows the law, but the old lawyer knows the Judge.”

THE CLAREMONT POLICE DEPARTMENT OFTEN FALSELY ARRESTS INNOCENTS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY USE EXECESSIVE FORCE UPON CIVILIANS.

The City of Claremont, California, is located in that part of Los Angeles County that is next to San Bernardino County. Unlike many other cities in Los Angeles County that contract with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for their police services, the City of Claremont has its own police department, located at 570 W. Bonita Ave., Claremont, CA 91711.

The Claremont Police Department has a relatively bad reputation for being rude to motorists, and being brutal and falsely arresting those civilians guilty of “Contempt of Cop“, otherwise known as “failing the attitude test“. See, “The Contempt of Cop Game”; How Well Can You Play?” (steeringlaw article by Jerry L. Steering, Esq.).

“Contempt of Cop” is a civilian verbally protesting or verbally challenging police order or actions.

The U.S. Supreme Court has declare some time ago that civilians have a constitutional right to verbally protest or verbally challenge police order or actions: City of Houston v. Hill, 482 U.S. 451 (1987):

Justice William Brennan Jr.“The Houston ordinance is much more sweeping than the municipal ordinance struck down in Lewis. It is not limited to fighting words nor even to obscene or opprobrious language, but prohibits speech that “in any manner . . . interrupt[s]” an officer. The Constitution does not allow such speech to be made a crime. The freedom of individuals verbally to oppose or challenge police action without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state.” Brennan, J.

Unfortunately, the Claremont Police Department does not see things that way that Justice Brennan does.

If you are pulled over in your vehicle by a Claremont Police Officer, stay in your car until and unless the officers tells you otherwise. Keep your hand in sight where the officer can see them. Shut your mouth and be polite to the officer. Otherwise, don’t be surprised if you get pepper-sprayed, tased or beaten with a baton.
