As the old saying goes, “The young lawyer knows the law, but the old lawyer knows the Judge”.

THE POLICE IN SIMI VALLEY ARE OFTEN BRUTAL AND ARE INSTITUTIONALLY DISHONEST.

Simi Valley is a city in the southeast region of Ventura County, California, United States. Simi Valley is 40 miles from Downtown Los Angeles. The City of Simi Valle has an estimated population of 125,000.

Simi Valley rose to national prominence in 1992 when a Simi Valley Superior Court jury acquitted 4 Los Angeles Police Department police officers for the 1991 beating of Rodney King.

Rodney King beating by LAPD 2On March 3, 1991, Black motorist Rodney King was brutally beaten by Los Angeles Police Department officers as the entire encounter was captured on video.

On April 29, 1992, a jury in Simi Valley, California, acquitted the police officers in the beating of King. See, This day in history, April 29: Jury acquits four Los Angeles police officers charged in the videotaped beating of motorist Rodney King, Chicago Tribune, April 29, 2021.

Following that 1992 acquittal of the four LAPD Officer, riots broke out in Los Angeles, resulting in 5,500 building fires and the California Governor calling out the National Guard to suppress the riots. See, When LA Erupted In Anger: A Look Back At The Rodney King Riots, NPR, April 26, 2017.

Most writers attribute the acquittals of the LAPD officer in California Superior Court in Simi Valley to Simi Valley being heavily populated with police officers and Deputy District Attorneys, and an otherwise very pro-police conservative population.

Simi Police no stranger to lawsuits, Simi Valley Acorn, May 28, 2010 (summary of lawsuits brought against Simi Valley for outrages perpetrated by Simi Valley Police Department police officers).

Most of the instances of police brutality, false arrests and malicious criminal prosecutions by Simi Valley Police Department police officers arise in the context of “Contempt of Cop” situations, where law-abiding citizens verbally protest or verbally challenge Simi Valley Police Department orders or actions.

LAPD Batting Practice in the ParkIn Simi Valley, verbally protesting or verbally challenging Simi Valley Police Department orders or actions will often result in your being beaten or tased or pepper-sprayed, and then falsely arrested and maliciously prosecuted for some bogus and fabricated “resistance offense” such as violation of Cal. Penal Code § 69 (resisting officer with force), Cal. Penal Code § 148(a)(1) (resisting/delaying/obstructing a officer), Cal. Penal Code § 240/241 (assault on officer), Cal. Penal Code § 242 / 243(b) & (c) (battery on officer causing injury) and Cal. Penal Code § 245(c) (assault on officer with weapon).

The only rights that you have in this country are those rights that you can enforce. After all, a right without a practical real-world remedy is no right at all. In the real world, not some fantasy technical world, the only way to enforce your constitutional rights are to have a federal court jury, usually composed of white cop-loving jurors, unanimously vote for you and condemn the police. It doesn’t matter what the law technically states, or what the jury instructions state, or what the judge says or even what the evidence shows, if white cop-loving jurors will not unanimously vote for you and condemn the police. That is reality. That is the world in which we live, and that is the world in Simi Valley, California.
