As the old saying goes, “The young lawyer knows the law, but the old lawyer knows the Judge”.

THE POLICE IN FILMORE ARE OFTEN BRUTAL AND ARE INSTITITIONALLY DISHONEST.

Fillmore is a small city in Ventura County, California with an estimated population of 17,000 residents. The racial makeup of Fillmore is approximately 57.2% White, 0.5% African American, 180 1.2% Native American, 1.0% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 34.7% from other races, and 5.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race are 74.7%.

The City of Fillmore contracts law enforcement services with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, that deploys out of the Filmore Station, located at 524 Sespe Avenue, Fillmore, California.

Filmore gangstersAlthough a small suburban city, Filmore has its share of criminal street gang activity. See, Fillmore Man Arrested for Three Counts Attempted Murder, The Filmore Gazette, March 27, 2019 (two separate gang related shootings that occurred in the City of Fillmore). See also, 18 arrested during Ventura County gang bust, KTLA5 News, August 1, 2023 (multiple shooting incidents involving gang members and associates in the Fillmore area); Multiple Fillmore Gang Members Arrested, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Press Release, August 1, 2023; Fillmore – Firearm and Gang Arrests, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Press Release, July 24, 2023; Gang-related assault in Fillmore leads to multiple arrests, My California News, March 11, 2025; Ventura County Deputies Arrest Several Gang Members in Fillmore After Report of 15 to 20 People Fighting, Sierra Sun Times, March 11, 2025; Alleged Fillmore Gang Member Charged with Tattooing Minor in Gang Recruitment Scheme, Hoodline Los Angeles, January 08, 2024; Ex-agent delves into gang world, The Acorn, February 07, 2025.

Because Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputies have to deal with these criminal street gang members in Filmore on a daily basis, many of those deputies have adopted a gangster mentality themselves; their motto being “We’re the baddest gang in town”.

Ventura County Sheriff's Department SWAT vehicleWhen these gangster deputies then come into contact with basically innocent law-abiding citizens, they often begin the fun by treating them like street criminals. This often sparks verbal protest or verbal challenge to police orders or police actions from these basically innocent law-abiding citizens. When that happens, the deputies then deem the basically innocent law-abiding citizens to be in “Contempt of Cop“. See, “The Contempt of Cop Game”; How Well Can You Play?“, steeringlaw.

Although the U.S. Supreme Court has long held verbal protest or verbal challenge to police orders or police actions to be constitutionally protected conduct, City of Houston v. Hill, 482 U.S. 451 (1987), verbal protest or verbal challenge to police orders or police actions will often result in Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputies beating or tasing or pepper-spraying, and falsely arresting and procuring the malicious criminal prosecutions of those innocents for resistance offenses such as violation of Cal. Penal Code § 69 (resisting officer with force), Cal. Penal Code § 148(a)(1) (resisting/delaying/obstructing a officer), Cal. Penal Code § 240/241 (assault on officer), Cal. Penal Code § 242 / 243(b) & (c) (battery on an officer causing injury) and Cal. Penal Code § 245(c) (assault on officer with weapon). This is not lefty propaganda; this is reality.
