THE POLICE IN GOLETA ARE OFTEN BRUTAL AND ARE INSTITUTIONALLY DISHONEST.

Goleta is a city in southern Santa Barbara County, California, with an estimated population of 33,000 in the strict city limits, and an estimated population of 55,000 including the unincorporated area of Goleta.

The City of Goleta contracts with the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office to provide its police services.

The racial makeup of Goleta is 51.5% White alone, 2.3% Black alone, 0.4% American Indian and Alaska Native alone, 11.4% Asian alone, 0.0% Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone, 18.2% Two or More Races, 36.7% Hispanic or Latino and 45.0% White alone, not Hispanic or Latino. Median household income in Goleta, CA is $118,039.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY GANG MEMBER IN COURTThe largest criminal street gangs in the Goleta are the Eastside Gangsters, the Westside Destroyers and the G-13 (Goleta-13) gang. Because Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office deputy sheriffs have to constantly deal with these criminal street gangsters, some of these deputy sheriffs become so jaded that they taken on the identity of “The Baddest Gang in Town”. When that happens, these jaded deputy sheriffs treat basically innocent and basically law-abiding civilians like street gangsters.

Sometimes these “Baddest Gang in Town” deputies will improvidently shoot and kills civilians or use overwhelming and unnecessary force and violence. See, Man killed in Goleta officer-involved shooting was wanted for attempted murder, KSBY News, May 15, 2019; Sheriff SWAT Teams Swarm South Coast in Connection to Goleta Double Homicide, Santa Barbara Independent, February 4, 2021; More details released about fatal officer-involved shooting in Goleta, The Tribune, May 16, 2019; DA Review Finds Officer-Involved Shooting Near Goleta Was ‘Justifiable Homicide’, Noozhawk.com, December 12, 2019.

These “The Baddest Gang in Town” deputies will order motorists who have been stopped for the most minor of traffic violations to exit their vehicles, to prone-out on the street, to subject themselves and their vehicles to being searched, to be handcuffed and placed in the deputies’ patrol cars, and often to be treated roughly. This is not left propaganda. This is reality.

When deputy sheriffs treat basically innocent and basically law-abiding civilians like street gangsters, it is common for the civilians to verbally protest or verbally challenge the abusive deputy; a well-established constitutional right in the United States. See, City of Houston v. Hill, 482 U.S. 451 (1987)(“The freedom of individuals verbally to oppose or challenge police action without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state.”)

Sheriff's Deputies making robbery arrest at Sizzler in GoletaWhen such verbal protest or verbal challenge happens, the innocent civilians is now deemed to be in “Contempt of Cop“. See, The “Contempt of Cop Game”; How Well Can You Play?, steeringlaw.

When that happens, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office deputy sheriffs will often then beat or tase or pepper-spray, and falsely arrest and maliciously prosecute the innocent civilians for some fabricated “resistance offense”, such as violation of Cal. Penal Code § 69 (resisting officer with force), Cal. Penal Code § 148(a)(1) (resisting/delaying/obstructing a officer), Cal. Penal Code § 240/241 (assault on officer), Cal. Penal Code § 242 / 243(b) & (c) (battery on an officer causing injury) and Cal. Penal Code § 245(c) (assault on officer with weapon). This is not lefty propaganda; this is reality.

You need a unanimous jury of usually 8 jurors to vote in your favor in federal court to win your case.
