THE POLICE IN CARPENTERIA ARE OFTEN BRUTAL AND ARE INSTITUTIONALLY DISHONEST.

Visitor Info - City of CarpinteriaCarpinteria is a small seaside city in southeastern Santa Barbara County, California, located on the Central Coast of California with an estimated population of 14,000. Carpinteria is a popular surf destination, and Carpinteria embraced the slogan “World’s Safest Beach” in 1912, which it still uses today.

The racial makeup of Carpinteria is approximately 71.7% White, 48.7% Hispanic or Latino, 0.8% African American, 1.1% Native American, 2.3% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 19.9% from other races, and 4.1% from two or more races. Carpinteria residents have an average household income of $104,233.

The City of Carpeteria contracts with the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department for its police services. Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department deputy sheriffs deploy out of the Carpinteria Sheriff’s Substation, located at 5775 Carpinteria Ave., Carpinteria, California.

Notwithstanding its affluent and predominantly White population, Carpinteria still has its problems with criminal street gangs. The Carpas street gang is the only criminal street gang in Carpinteria. The gang claims the entire city as its territory. See, People of the State of California v. Galvez, 195 Cal.App.4th 1253.

Special Enforcement Team (SET) – Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office 2Because the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office patrols the streets of Carpinteria, many of those deputies are jaded from their experiences with basic street criminals and criminal street gang members in cities throughout Santa Barbara County. To those jaded deputies, everyone is a dirtbag and everyone should be treated in the way that they treat street gangsters. This is not so for even the majority of Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office deputy sheriff, but even if 10% of those deputies act this way, cities in the county like Carpinteria often experience law abiding citizens being accosted at gunpoint, beaten, tased, pepper-sprayed, and falsely arrested and maliciously prosecuted for various fabricated “resistance offenses” such as violation of Cal. Penal Code § 69 (resisting officer with force), Cal. Penal Code § 148(a)(1) (resisting/delaying/obstructing a officer), Cal. Penal Code § 240/241 (assault on officer), Cal. Penal Code § 242 / 243(b) & (c) (battery on an officer causing injury) and Cal. Penal Code § 245(c) (assault on officer with weapon).

This is not lefty propaganda; this is reality.
