He parked across the street from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Department station in the Church Parking Lot, reading his Bible and looking to sooth his soul from the terror he had endured in the Army.

Apple Valley Sheriff’s Department deputy sheriffs would exit the station parking lot, and see Sgt. Jones in his car and reading his Bible. They tormented him, followed him around town, and falsely arrested him for “resisting / obstructing / delaying a peace officer” when he refused to speak with them. When a lady deputy entered Penny Trent’s home to tell her where they were taking her husband, the deputy didn’t see her right hand and shot at her with her pistol.
