Mr. Steering’s many years of experience and acquired knowledge can help you maximize your chances of actually winning your Police Misconduct Civil Rights case, and winning is the only thing that matters. If you cannot win your Civil Rights Police Misconduct Lawsuit then you have no rights, because you have no way to enforce them, and a right without a remedy in the real world does not exist.

THE POLICE IN CANOGA PARK ARE OFTEN BRUTAL AND ARE INSTITUTIONALLY DISHONEST.

Canoga Park is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of the City of Los Angeles, California. The Canoga Park neighborhood is patrolled by the Topanga Community Police Station of the Los Angeles Police Department (“LAPD”), located at 21501 Schoenborn Street, Canoga Park, California.

The Canoga Park neighborhood has an estimated population of 61,000. The demographics of Canoga Park are 39% White, 33% Hispanic, 17% Asian, 5% Black, Two of More Races 5% and Other 1%.

There are various criminal street gangs in Canoga Park, the most notorious of which is the Canoga Park Alabama, “The Hate Gang of the Valley”. That gang that started out as a social club for Mexican farm workers boasts 500 members, and is a generational street gang. See also, From social club to gang (evolution of the Canoga Park Alabama gang), Los Angeles Times.

Other criminal street gangs in Canoga Park fight with each other over local “turf wars”. See, Latino gang makes blacks its target in Canoga Park, Los Angeles Daily News, August 29, 2017; San Fernando Valley Coalition on Gangs Operations Valley-Bureau Los Angeles Police Department, LAPD; Playboys (gang), Wikipedia; Varrio Canoga Park Alabama Street 13 [CPA]. They’re basically the last gang on the western part of the City of LA & used to be a NK gang, Redditt.

LAPD: “WE’RE THE BADDEST GANG IN TOWN”.

LAPD Batting Practice in the ParkIn part because they have to deal with these dangerous criminal street gangs, many of the LAPD Officers who patrol the Canoga Park area of Los Angeles have adopted the “We’re the baddest gang in town” mentality. When this happens, LAPD officers often treat nice basically law-abiding civilians like street gangsters, such as by ordering motorists on routine de minimis traffic stops to exit their cars, submit to pat-downs of their persons and searches of their vehicles for weapons and drugs, proning innocents down on the street and pointing guns at them; again for nothing more than de minimis traffic infractions.

When that happens, the good-citizen innocent motorist often verbally protest or verbally challenge such mistreatment of them. When such verbal and challenge happen, the innocent motorist, guilty of nothing more than a de minimis traffic infraction, is now deemed in “Contempt of Cop”. See, The “Contempt of Cop Game”; How Well Can You Play? steeringlaw.com.

When that happens, the innocent motorist, guilty of nothing more than a de minimis traffic infraction, often now gets beaten or tased or pepper-sprayed, and falsely arrested and maliciously prosecuted for various fabricated resistance offenses, such as violation of Cal. Penal Code § 69 (resisting officer with force), Cal. Penal Code § 148(a)(1) (resisting/delaying/obstructing officer), Cal. Penal Code § 240/241 (assault on officer), Cal. Penal Code § 242 / 243(b) & (c) (battery on officer causing injury) and Cal. Penal Code § 245(c) (assault on officer with weapon). This is no joke, this is reality.

IF YOU ARE THE VICTIM OF POLICE MISCONDUCT, JERRY L. STEERING CAN HELP YOU ACTUALLY ENFORCE YOUR RIGHTS BY WINNING YOUR CASE.

Screen Capture from LA ABC 7 Interview of JLS on Jovan Jimenez caseThe only thing that matters when enforcing your rights, is whether you win your case. If you don’t win your case, then you have no rights because you have no way to enforce them.

Just because the police violated your constitutional rights doesn’t mean that you can do anything about it. In order to “do something about it”, to enforce your constitutional rights, it takes a great deal of experience, insights, skill and savvy. You need a unanimous jury of usually 8 jurors to vote in your favor in federal court to win your case. If you mouth-off to the cops or don’t do what the police tell you to do or cuss out the cops, or act like a jerk, one or more of the jurors in your case may not vote for you. That is the reality in which we all live.
