As the old saying goes, “The young lawyer knows the law, but the old lawyer knows the Judge”. THE LAPD IN WATTS IS THE “BADEST GANG IN TOWN”. The Watts are of Los Angeles is located in South Central Los Angeles. The streets of Watts is overrun with street gangs; some with and some without badges. The Watts criminal street gangs are numerous and extremely dangerous street criminals. There are several factions of Watts “Crips” gangs, who wear blue clothing and bandanas. These Watts Crips gangs include the Grape Street Watts Crips, the Nut Hood Watts Crips, the Avalon Gangster Crips, the 120th Street Hustlers Crips, the Pee Jay Watts Crips, the 118 Holmes Street Crips, the 92 Hat Gang, the 7 STR Watts and the 99 Watts Mafia. The Watts “Blood” gangs, who wear red clothing and bandanas include the Bounty Hunter Bloods, the Bebop Bloods, the Family Swan Bloods and the 9 Deuce Bishops. These are both composed of black persons of African descent and the Blood gangs and the Crip gangs are in a never-ending constant “turf war”. Wear red clothing in a blue neighbor may very well get one shot and killed, and the same for wearing blue clothing in a red neighborhood. See, Crips–Bloods gang war, Wikpedia. See, The Complex History Of The Crips And The Bloods Rivalry, Grunge, March 31, 2021. There are also quite a few different Hispanic street gangs in Watts, such as the Varrio Grape Street Gang, the Watts Varrio Locotes 13, Village Boys, Suicidal, Colonia Weigand, Southside Watts, KILLING MOB 13 WATTS (KMOB), Nut Hood Watts 13 and Hickory Street Watts 13. As one might imagine, the LAPD in Watts is also engaged in a never-ending battle with these criminal street gangs; a war that has been going on for over 40 years. See, Police Use a Wide Broom: LAPD’s war on gangs and drugs has shifted emphasis, concentrating on South-Central L.A., with mixed reactions from residents. Los Angeles Times, May 8, 1988. The LAPD has many honorable and honest police officers. However, when the LAPD is constantly police there murderous criminal street gangs on the streets of Watts, they adopt a gangster mentality and actually identify as “The Badest Gang in Town”. They became street gangsters with badges. Because of the LAPD’s war on gangs, they also often forget that the majority of the residents of Watts are not street gang members, and desperately need protection from the LAPD from these murderous criminal street gangs. Ergo, LAPD often treats completely innocent Watts residents like street gangsters; performing routine traffic stops are gunpoint, performing routine traffic stops on Watts residents for the flimsiest of reasons, or for no reason at all.
