The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is essentially, a “legal” criminal street gang with badges. They are brutal and blatantly dishonest. Don’t be surprised if you get a club slammed against your head for protesting police actions there, or for simply failing the attitude test.

Even since Chad Bianco has become the elected Sheriff of Riverside County, his agency, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department now has carte blanche to beat, torture and frame their victims; all fully supported by that agency’s Crimes Against Peace Officers Unit (“CAPO”).

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department actually tells its deputy sheriffs and supervisors that they are all “Risk Managers” for the Sheriff’s Department and County of Riverside, and that their actions are to be done in conformity with the Sheriff’s Department’s Risk Management Department. This is no joke. As shown in Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Policy Manual 301:

301.2 POLICY
It is the policy of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to practice sound, contemporary, and practical risk management strategies throughout all divisions of responsibility. Every department member is a risk manager and shall adhere to the mandates within this policy to effectively protect the department and the public against needless and avoidable liability exposure.

To add insult to injury, when Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputy sheriffs do beat you and falsely arrest you for beating them, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office will be glad to criminally prosecute you for some bogus resistance offense (these days, for violation of Cal. Penal Code Section 69 [resisting office with threat or use of force or violence], or other “resistance offenses”), to preclude you from suing the police. See, Cal.
