As shown in Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Policy Manual 301: 301.2 POLICY It is the policy of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to practice sound, contemporary, and practical risk management strategies throughout all divisions of responsibility. Every department member is a risk manager and shall adhere to the mandates within this policy to effectively protect the department and the public against needless and avoidable liability exposure. To add insult to injury, when Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputy sheriffs do beat you and falsely arrest you for beating them, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office will be glad to criminally prosecute you for some bogus resistance offense (these days, for violation of Cal. Penal Code Section 69 [resisting office with threat or use of force or violence], or other “resistance offenses”), to preclude you from suing the police. See, Cal.
