Mr. Steering’s many years of experience and acquired knowledge can help you maximize your chances of actually winning your Police Misconduct Civil Rights case, and winning is the only thing that matters. If you cannot win your Civil Rights Police Misconduct Lawsuit then you have no rights, because you have no way to enforce them, and a right without a remedy in the real world does not exist.

THE POLICE IN LITTLE ROCK ARE OFTEN BRUTAL AND ARE INSTITUTIONALLY DISHONEST.

Littlerock entry signsLittlerock is a census-designated place in Los Angeles County, California. The population of Littlerock is approximately 1,500 residents. However, the Littlerock, and Sun Village community, which is typically referred to as Littlerock, has a population of approximately 15,000.

Littlerock is named after the Little Rock Wash that passes through the area and is known as “The Fruit Basket of the Antelope Valley.” There were orchards of fruit trees such as almonds, apples, peaches, and pears, along the side of the roads around Highway 138.

Littlerock is patrolled by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, who deploy out of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station located at 750 East Avenue Q, Palmdale, California. Unfortunately, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is a brutal agency, accountable to no one.

No one ever got elected to public office in this country by promising to protect the public from the police. Even Los Angeles County is no different. When former Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon refused to file misdemeanor resisting arrest cases and began prosecuting police officers for duty related conduct against civilians, he was soundly defeated for reelection. See, New DA Gascon to decline prosecution on range of low-level crimes, KABC 7 News, December 10, 2020; Nathan Hochman Wins Race for LA County DA, beating George Gascón, Los Angeles County Peace Officers Association, November 6, 2024.

Moreover, at the station level, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is run and controlled not by the station Captain, but by criminal gangs of deputy sheriffs, many of whom are required to actually murder a civilian on the job for admission to those deputy gangs. This is not lefty propaganda; this is reality. See, Cruel and Usual Punishment: How a Savage Gang of Deputies Controls L.A. County Jails, ACLU, September 28, 2011; ‘They are a cancer:’ Deputy gangs still operating within LA County sheriff’s department, report says (such deputy gangs as the Executioners, the Banditos, the Regulators, the Spartans, the Gladiators, the Cowboys and the Reapers “run” many of the county’s patrol stations, as opposed to the sergeants, lieutenants and captains ostensibly in charge), KABC 7 News, March 3, 2023; LASD is openly violating state law on deputy gangs, according to leaked documents, Los Angeles Open Press, May 8, 2024.

Notwithstanding the deputy gang culture at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, most of the time that basically law-abiding civilians get abused by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy sheriffs in Littlerock is for verbally protesting and verbally challenging deputy sheriff’s orders or actions.

Justice William Brennan Jr.Verbal protest and verbal challenge of police orders and actions have long been held to be constitutionally protected conduct. As United States Supreme Court Associate Justice William Brennan so eloquently held in 1987: The freedom of individuals verbally to oppose or challenge police action without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state.”

However, in the real world, verbally protesting and verbally challenging a deputy sheriff’s orders or actions will get you deemed in “Contempt of Cop”, and will often result in you being beaten or tased or pepper-sprayed, and falsely arrested and even maliciously prosecuted. See, “The “Contempt of Cop Game”; How Well Can You Play?”, steeringlaw.com. That is the real world in which we live these days.

IF YOU ARE THE VICTIM OF POLICE MISCONDUCT, JERRY L. STEERING CAN HELP YOU ACTUALLY ENFORCE YOUR RIGHTS BY WINNING YOUR CASE.

The only thing that matters when enforcing your rights, is whether you win your case. If you don’t win your case, then you have no rights because you have no way to enforce them.

Screen Capture from LA ABC 7 Interview of JLS on Jovan Jimenez caseJust because the police violated your constitutional rights doesn’t mean that you can do anything about it. In order to “do something about it”, to enforce your constitutional rights, it takes a great deal of experience, insights, skill and savvy. You need a unanimous jury of usually 8 jurors to vote in your favor in federal court to win your case. If you mouth-off to the cops or don’t do what the police tell you to do or cuss out the cops, or act like a jerk, one or more of the jurors in your case may not vote for you. That is the reality in which we all live.
